Audit Committee Members (3 Positions)
Applications are invited from the prospective candidates who wish to serve on the North West Provincial Audit Committee for a term of office of 3 years.
Applicants should possess sound knowledge of and relevant experience in any of the following areas, such as finance, economic, legal, accounting, auditing, risk management, management and internal control. In addition, the following skills and attributes would be advantageous: integrity, independence, understanding of public sector business, corporate governance and knowledge of Public Finance Management Act. Experience or exposure in the Provincial Department environment as well as Audit and Board Committees would be an added advantage.
The Audit Committee discharges its responsibilities in terms of an Audit Committee Charter setting out the authority, purpose, responsibility, and formal terms of reference. The Committee meets at least five times per year.
Members will be remunerated for preparation time, attendance of meetings and the performance of related duties according to an hourly rate as determined from the annual South African Institute of Chartered Accountants guideline on fees for audits done on behalf of the Auditor-General South Africa from time to time or as approved the by the MEC for Finance and will also be reimbursed for accommodation, transport and out of pocket expenses incurred for attending Audit Committee meetings.
Applications should consist of a covering letter and Curriculum Vitae, as well as certified copies of qualifications and identity documents.
