Requirements: • An appropriate National Diploma (NQF6) /Degree (NQF7) in Public administration/Records Management or any relevant field with extensive 5 years' experience in Records Management and two years' must be at managerial level • Certificates in Archives and Records Management will be an added advantage • Knowledge: • Records Management related policies and procedures, National Archives and Records Service Act 43 of 1996 and knowledge in Minimum Information Security Standards, PAJA and PAIA and other prescripts relevant to record management • Skills: • Computer literacy and use of standard packages, Basic Project Management skill • Financial Management and Risk Management.
Duties: • To manage all records in the department according to the records management principles contained in the National Archives and Records Service Act No 43 of 1996 and Records Management Policy Manual • Develop and Implementation of the departmental records management policy, registry manual and records classification systems according to records management prescripts • Implement strategies on records preservation strategies on vital records in the department • Develop and implement audit strategy on record management and provide assistance during audits and other special assignments conducted in the department • Ensure functionality and compliance of departmental registries in line with records management prescripts • Manage the disposal in accordance with National Archive and Records Services Act no 43 of 1996 • Manage off-site storage • Facilitate records management capacity building sessions • Ensure functionality of departmental records management forums • Manage records management unit and ensure compliance to public service regulations.
