CHIEF DIRECTOR: INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL SERVICES
Salary: R 1 371 558.00 p.a. (All-inclusive SMS package)

Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in the Built Environment (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA • A Post-graduate qualification in management will be an added advantage • Public Sector Management and/or related Management experience in the design and delivery of infrastructure programmes • Eight (8) - ten (10) years, at least five (5) years relevant experience in a Senior Management position with proven managerial skills • Pre-entry Certificate for the SeniorManagement Services (SMS) as endorsed by the National School of Government • A valid driver's license • Exceptional knowledge of the development of Government policies, procedures and prescripts • Documented track record of successful management of construction programmes and projects • Sound knowledge of the CIDB Acts and Regulations • Knowledge in Financial and Supply Chain Management processes, Supply Chain Management Policies, Government Immovable Asset Management Act of 2007, Occupation Health and Safety Act and Regulations as well as other relatedActs and Regulations • Good communication skills, both verbal and written • Project management and excellent research and benchmarking skills • Ability to work in a high-pressured environment.

Duties: Provide strategic direction on the service delivery mechanisms of the following directorates: • Infrastructure Planning, Infrastructure Delivery, Health Technology Management and Maintenance Management • Plan and construct new health facilities as well as renovate and maintain existing facilities • Perform leadership functions such as planning work programmes, personnel administration and determining work procedures and methods • Compile presentations and briefs for the Head of Department • Manage structures and external committees and stakeholders • Provide technical and professional support to the Head of Department • Write report, memorandums and policy documents, etc • Prepare documentation for the follow-up of high-profile meetings • Develop and maintain a working system to ensure good corporate governance • Co-ordinate all infrastructure projects inclusive of planning execution, monitoring and evaluation • Lead the change management process in the Department into policy, organisational re-alignment and system implementation(s).

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Salary: R1 663 581.00 p.a. (All-inclusive SMS Package)

Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree with Accounting and/or Auditing as majors or appropriate equivalent qualification • Postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) as recognized by SAQA • Admission as Chartered Accountant (South Africa) will serve as an added advantage • Eight (8) - Ten (10) years' experience at Senior Management Level in Financial Management Environment • Pre-entry Certificate for the Senior Management Services (SMS) as endorsed by the National School of Government • A valid driver's license • Knowledge of PFMA • Treasury Regulations, Public Service Anti-Corruption and Fraud Prevention Measures, Government Structures, Principles and Practices of FinancialAccounting, Financial Planning and Budgeting, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management and Internal Control • Advanced financial and analytical skills • Advanced computer literacy in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Good interpersonal, people management and leadership skills • Project management skills • Applicants should also possess the following core management competencies: strategic capability and leadership, financial management, change management, problem solving and analysis, people management and empowerment, communication, client orientation and customer focus, knowledge management, service delivery innovation and programme and project management.
 
Duties: • Establish and maintain appropriate systems and policies to ensure effective and efficient management of financial resources • Assist the Accounting Officer in discharging the duties prescribed in Chapter 5 of the PFMA and DORA • Develop effective financial management, budgeting and budgetary practices • Implement internal controls and timely production of financial reports • Formulate creative solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of services and administration of the Office/Department • Liaise with relevant role-players in the financial environment regarding transverse financial matters • Ensure effective and efficient financial environment/administration by collaborating in the development of training programmes for officials of the Office/Department • Manage financial and provisioning administrations functions of the Office/Department.

REGISTRAR (MEDICAL): INTERNAL MEDICINE X2 & RADIATION ONCOLOGY X1 (JOINT APPOINTMENT WITH FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, UNIVERSITY OF WITWATERSRAND) - FOUR YEAR CONTRACT
Salary: R906 540.00 p.a. (All-inclusive Package)

Requirements: • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Registrar • Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit current proof of registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as Medical Practitioner in Independent Practice • Part (I) of the CMSA examination will be a recommendation.
 
Duties: • The incumbent will be responsible to interview, investigate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of patients, participate in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research, departmental audit, preparing and writing of reports and community liaison • Supervise junior doctors (undergraduate students, interns and community service doctors) • Attendance of relevant administrative meetings like mortality meetings and completing Medico Legal Documents timeously • Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care • Reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethos • Implement and monitor adherence to National Core Standards • Participate in multidisciplinary team to the management of patients • Performance of practical procedures relevant to the care of patients • Participate in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures and ward rounds • Render after hour (night, weekend and public holiday) duties to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.
 
NB: Registrars will be appointed jointly between the North West Department of Health and the University of the Witwatersrand, will be based in Klerksdorp/Tshepong Hospital Complex and may be required to rotate through the training platforms in Gauteng.
