Position : Chief Traffic Officer: Law Enforcement & Public Safety
5 (Five) Year Fixed Term Contract
Salary : R 829 511.82 – R 1 076 705.25 p.a. (CTC) (Task Grade 16)

Requirements:-
• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Road Traffic and Municipal Police Management/Traffic Safety Management/Municipal and Traffic Policing/Public Management
• Be registered as a Traffic Officer
• Be registered as Examiner of Driver’s License (Grade A)
• At least 10 years working as a Traffic Officer, 4 years at a Supervisory or Middle Management level
• Extensive knowledge of Traffic legislations and policies including Road Traffic Act of 1996
• No criminal record
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literate and financial management skills
• Required to work overtime/irregular hours during emergency situations

Duties:-
• Be responsible for the management and coordination of traffic services function – law enforcement traffic transgression and municipal by-laws
• Plan and facilitate law enforcement operation and ensure that all traffic regulations and laws are effectively enforced
• Be responsible for the execution and management, development, planning and design functions with regards to the traffic management plan
• Develop short, medium and long term law enforcement strategies
• Conduct research and inspection – come with intervention initiatives in addressing the expansion of traffic demands in line with the IDP of the municipality
• Develop and institute an effective reporting system in the section to aid council in the management of the service delivery
• Administer road accidents, road safety unit and support emergency and rescue personnel during major disasters
• Manage and ensure that any risk to public safety or contravention to traffic regulations and laws are identified and corrective measures enforced on offenders
• Manage and coordinate speed checking, road blocks, special operations, traffic patrol duties and attends to court cases
• Maintain effective and efficient stakeholder relations and ensure all general protocols, policy and procedures are adhered to
• Manage and ensure administrative sequences related to statutory documentation, registers and statistics are performed
Department : Infrastructure & Technical Services
Position : Head: Electrical Operations & Maintenance
Salary : R 592 508.00 - R 769 075.00 p.a. (Task Grade 16)

Requirements:-
• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 4-5 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be managerial or supervisor level
• Government Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Engineer will be added as an advantage

Duties:-
• Develop and review a long-term grid and non-grid electrification strategy and plans that are aligned to the national electrification programme
• Manage the processes of coordinating all Municipality`s electrification initiatives
• Manage timeously delivery of electrical engineering plans within the scope and budget
• Implement the incident protocol to manage interruption of a major scale
• Coordinate with Eskom for the supply and delivery of electricity to the communities within the Municipality`s jurisdiction

Requirements:-
• A recognized B.Com Degree in Accounting or equivalent (NQF7)
• Completed Articles will be an added advantage

• 3 years Managerial experience in the preparation of GRAP Compliant financial statements in local government

Duties:-
