The incumbent will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:
Critical thinking, time management, negotiation, communication, attention to textual detail and analytical skills. The incumbent will be required to provide guidance to line management and labour representatives on all relevant policies and procedures.
Job purpose:
To provide the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality with adequate levels of qualified staff members whose performances are managed on an ongoing basis to ensure that they are productive in terms of the Municipality’s long-term strategic objectives.
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

Qualifications and experience required:
- Appropriate Tertiary Qualification in a Human Resources field.
- Preferred B Degree majoring in Industrial Organisational Psychology or B Tech Human Resources.
- Up to five years’ (three to five years’) relevant experience.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.
- Must be computer literate, preferably in Word and Excel.
- Strong theoretical knowledge in the field of Human Resources.

- Appropriate/acceptable level of Secondary Education NQF Level 4.
- Relevant Information Technology experience up to twelve months.
- Computer literacy.
- Computer technical knowledge, initiating GIS server back-up, initiating PEM Server back-up, initiating HQ Server back-up, initiating Contour Server back-up, initiating Traffic Server back-up.
Key attributes and competencies:
The incumbent will be required to:
- operate income IBM AS/400 System,
- prepare and run validating via the operator console,
- prepare and initiate receipting batch jobs via operator console,
- operate expenditure IBM A/400 system, prepare and initiate fuel and oil batch job via the operator console, perform security backing-up procedures.
