OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
MANAGER: INTERNATIONAL AND INTER-GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS
(EXTERNAL RELATIONS)
POSITION CODE: 210147
TASK Grade 14 (R517 584 – R719 580 per annum)
(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

Qualifications and experience required:
- A relevant tertiary qualification, i.e. an appropriate B. Degree.
- Three to four years’ extensive experience in an international and inter-governmental relations environment.
- A valid Code B Driver’s Licence.

Job purpose:
- Managing the key performance areas and outcomes of the International and Inter-governmental Relations Sub-directorate which, inter alia, includes:
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, a medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

- Developing and/or reviewing the policy on international relations.
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on Council’s international programmes and projects.
- Scoping and co-ordinating the twinning programmes between the Municipality and sister cities and assist in establishing new twinning programmes.
- Coordinating meetings, controlling travel arrangements and monitoring the international relations diary in keeping with the international and national protocol framework, in support of the international programmes of Council.
- Building co-operative governance between the Municipality and the other spheres of government.
- Developing, implementing and constantly reviewing the Inter-governmental Relations Strategy.
- Promoting inter-governmental relations.
