DEPUTY DIRECTOR: FLEET MANAGEMENT
(FLEET MANAGEMENT)
POSITION CODE: 240447
TASK Grade 16 (R750 600 – R1 043 532 per annum)
(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)
 
Qualifications and experience required:
  • A B degree/B Tech tertiary qualification or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Transportation Management.
  • Four to five years’ relevant experience.
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
Key attributes and competencies:
  • Good understanding of relevant legislative requirements.
  • Ability to manage key outcomes associated with the implementation of effective Fleet Management strategies.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Report-writing skills.
 
Job purpose:
Managing and controlling the procedures, operations and critical outcomes associated with Fleet Management (vehicles, plant, and equipment) through the alignment and implementation of functional plans and objectives, monitoring productivity and performance and addressing deviations and implementing standards and operating practices to manage the allocation, maintenance and optimum functionality of the Municipality’s fleet.
 
As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.

Qualifications and experience required:
  • B.Sc. Civil Engineering or B. Tech Civil plus Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng
  • Five to seven years’ relevant experience.
  • Must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence.

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.

Job purpose:
Managing the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the formulation and review of the plans, identification and prioritisation of needs and measures necessary to address the provision of the Design and Implementation Services (Contracts and Project Management), communicating with functional and community based role-players, formulation of contracts and, approving and monitoring the execution and application of procedures, regulations and standards in order to ensure the Municipality complies with requirements in terms of the Integrated Development Plan.

Qualifications and experience required:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Five to six years’ relevant experience, preferably in Forensic Audit in a public sector – local government environment.
  • Must be certified as an Internal Auditor.
  • Must have professional membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
 
Key attributes and competencies:
  • Content of the job design requires the knowledge, understanding and application of internal and other auditing processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
  • Report-writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical and co-ordination skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with an exceptional high degree of confidentiality is essential.
 
Job purpose:
Coordinating and controlling the key functions associated with Internal Audit and Risk Management through research/analysis, development, drafting of audit specifications, evaluating the control, risk management and governance processes within directorates, recommending improvements on control weaknesses.
