The following vacancy exists at NSFAS in Cape Town.
 
Position: NSFAS OpsCo Member x 1 
Type & Grade: Three (3) Year Term
Vacancy No: 18 of 2022/23 
Department & Unit: Office of the Chief Executive Officer
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounting Authority of NSFAS hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to be appointed as an independent Member of the NSFAS Operations Committee in terms of the Public Finance Management Act.
 
INFORMATION SUMMARY
Term of Office: 01 April 2023 – 31 March 2026 (3 Year Term)
Competencies: Expertise in the following areas: TVET colleges and Universities, Marketing and Communications.
Qualities: Member must possess the following qualities: Independence, Integrity, Objectivity, Willingness to dedicate time and Communication Skills.
Experience: Experience in serving as a Committee Member or governance structure in a Government or Financial institution will be an advantage. Members who are appointed will be remunerated in terms of the approved schedules in line with Treasury Regulations.

Position: NSFAS ICT Member x 2 Type Three (3) Year Term
Vacancy No: 17 of 2022/23 
Department & Unit: Office of the Chief Executive Officer
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Accounting Authority of NSFAS hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to be appointed as independent Member of the NSFAS Operations Committee in terms of the Public Finance Management Act.
 
INFORMATION SUMMARY
Term of Office: 01 April 2023 – 31 March 2026 (3 Year Term)
 
Competencies:
• Extensive expertise in ICT governance, strategy and implementation;
• Expertise in ICT investment, and monitoring the management and mitigation of ICT risks;
• Knowledge of the DPSA Corporate Governance of ICT framework, COBIT, ITIL and ISO standards;
• Cyber Security Knowledge.
 
Qualities:
Member must possess the following qualities: Independence, Integrity, Objectivity, Willingness to dedicate time and Communication Skills.
 
Experience:
• Post graduate degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
• Industry related certifications such as the following will be an added advantage: CGEIT, CISA, CISM, COBIT and/or TOGAF
• Proven knowledge and experience in a SETA Environment, Government Department, State Owned Entities (SOE), operational environments and accountability structures; IT industry legislation, policy frameworks and best practices; IT governance principles and processes; IT risk management and IT strategies and plans
