Position: Change Management Specialist
Type & Grade: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) - Grade: 12

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Change Management Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that Organisational Change projects and initiatives meet the defined objectives, on time and on budget by increasing stakeholder, user and general employee understanding, adoption and, where relevant, participation and / or utilisation. The incumbent will focus on the People side of change initiatives, including those that are designed for the business processes, systems, technology, job roles and organisational structure changes.
 
The incumbent will be expected to create and implement change management strategies and plans that optimise employee engagement, identify and address any resistance to Change with the intention of minimising its negative impact on the planned change initiatives. He / She will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilisation of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees. These improvements will increase benefit realisation, value creation, return on investment and the achievement of appropriate results and outcomes. The Change Management Specialist will also support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.
 
 
The Change Management Specialist will not have direct supervisory responsibility; however, the incumbent will be required to work with and through other officials within the organisation in order to implement the defined change management strategies. The incumbent will also be required to coach managers, senior leaders and executives in helping them to fulfil their change sponsorship roles. The Change Management Specialist will also be expected to provide support and coaching to any employees, managers and supervisors as they navigate through the organisational change journey.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the change portfolio including specifically, to support all change management requirements at enterprise level through the following:
a) Using a structured methodology, develop a change management strategy to define, lead and support the implementation of required organisational change management activities;
b) Support project teams to integrate change management activities into their project plans;
c) Drive the development, approval and implementation of communication & involvement initiatives to facilitate stakeholder and end-user understanding and buy-in of proposed changes;
d) Define and implement process of identifying change readiness and assessing the impact of proposed and implemented changes;
e) Support, including where necessary, facilitate training efforts to embed stakeholder and user understanding, engagement and adoption of organisational changes
f) Complete change management assessments;
g) Identify, analyze, prepare and facilitate risk mitigation tactical steps;
h) Identify and manage anticipated resistance to change actions;
i) Consult and coach project teams and individual employees where appropriate;
j) Develop actionable deliverables for five change management levers:
• Communications Plans
• Sponsor Roadmap
• Coaching Plan
• Training Plan
• Resistance Management Plan
k) Support and engage senior leaders
l) Co-ordinate efforts with other specialists
m) Integrate change management activities into project plan
n) Evaluate and ensure user readiness
o) Manage relationships with stakeholders
p) Track and report issues
q) Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
 
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements:
• Relevant degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development
• Change Management certification
• At least 10 years’ or more Change Management and Organisational Development experience, including 3 years in a Specialist/ Senior Consultant role.
• MS Office Skills (Windows, Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)
 
Change Management Experience:
• Sound knowledge of change management methodology and tools deployment
• Experience leading complex and / or large-scale organisational change projects
• Advanced working knowledge of project management methodology and approaches
• End-to-end project exposure across private and public sector environments
 
Preferred:
• Post-graduate qualification
• Project Management certification

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
R867 356 – R1 021 699 per annum
Total Cost to Company per annum inclusive of all benefits and company contributions.
