The following vacancy exists at NSFAS in Cape Town.
 
Position: Automation Specialist 
Type & Grade: Permanent, Grade: 11
Vacancy No: 23 of 2020/2021 
Department & Unit: ICT Department
 
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The incumbent will be required to assist with automation implementations and increasing automation across various areas within the business to enable integration and automation of processes
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Focus on providing optimal services and improving service delivery processes to meet or exceed expectations
• Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• Perform moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more ICT projects that require a singular area of expertise, in multiple technical environments within a specific business area
• Adhere to department operations standards, prescribed Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and operational framework to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Provide input into the development of the tactical strategy, and develop and implement a supporting operational strategy
• Develop new insights into situations and apply innovative solutions to make organisational improvements
• Ensure the development, alignment and implementation of end-to-end processes within area of accountability for continued process improvement
• Advice about subject matter, solutions, principles and processes
 
 
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirements:
• National Diploma in Information Communication Technology, or similar qualification
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as an Automation Specialist.
 
Beneficial skills and experience:
• SQL and firm understanding of logic and software design
• Agile methodology experience
• End to End SDLC experience
• In-depth technical experience in integration or back-end development
• Understanding of the higher and further education and training sector in South Africa
 
Competencies:
• Ability to analyse Functional and Non-functional requirements
• Experience with automation tools highly desirable
• Have a conceptual understanding of the Service delivery model
• Take cognisance of industry compliance requirements
• Keep abreast of new developments in, technology and industry standards

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
Remuneration Package: R 731 862 to R 862 105 per annum
Total Cost to Company per annum inclusive of all benefits and company contributions.
