Job description
To conduct inspections at NNR regulated facilities and to conduct technical reviews and assessment against condition of authorisation related to nuclear fuel cycle facilities, research reactor, radioisotope manufacturing, radioactive waste management facilities and decommissioning of former nuclear facilities.

​Minimum requirements

• NQF level 8 in one to these qualifications (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering) 
• Minimum of 3 years regulatory experience or relevant industry experience in operational or inspection
• Valid driver's licence

Knowledge of the following:

• Radiation Protection
• Nuclear Safety
• Waste Safety
• Transport Safety
• Environmental Protection

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and monitor implementation of corrective actions
• Review routine compliance submissions and occurrence reports from authorisation holders
• Collects samples and review environmental monitoring report from laboratory
• Participate in Investigations
• Respond to incidents and accidents as reported at authorisation holder's facilities
• Issue enforcement instructions, as appropriate
• Monitor performance trends against safety indicators in assigned areas or facilities
• Prepare reports on work undertaken

Please note that this position requires frequent travelling
