NOTICE AND INVITATION TO SERVE ON THE AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE OF NATIONAL HERITAGE COUNCIL (NHC) REF: NHC/SEC/01/2019/20
The National Heritage Council (NHC) of South Africa is a Public Entity (Schedule 3A) according to the PFMA, constituted through the NHC Act, 1999 (Act 11 of 1999), requires the services of members to serve on the Audit and Risk Committee established in accordance with section 77 of the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999, as amended. The NHC is responsible for the preservation, protection and promotion of heritage for sustainable development.
The NHC hereby invites applications from suitable qualified persons wishing to serve on its Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
Requirements: Minimum post graduate qualification in the field of Accounting / Auditing / IT; Risk Management; Legal background will be an added advantage; Appropriate experience and / or knowledge of the Public entities will be a strong recommendation; Previous experience as a member of Audit and Risk Committee in the public sector and / or public entity; and a qualified CA/CIA/CISA will be an added advantage.
Remuneration: Members will be remunerated in accordance with the rates determined by NHC from time to time. Travelling on official duty will be reimbursed at rates determined by NHC.
Selection of Procedure: All application must be accompanied by comprehensive curriculum vitae. Short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews.
Terms of appointment: The Audit and Risk Committee is appointed for a term of three years. The committee meets at least four times a year and additional meetings may be convened. Meetings will be held during working hours, unless necessitated by circumstances.
