NATIONAL HEALTH LABORATORY SERVICES (NHLS)
GUIDELINES TO APPLICANTS
1. If you meet the requirements, kindly email a detailed CV to the relevant Practitioner/Administrator (Human Resources), quoting the reference number and the job title.
2. Proof of registration with a Professional body (e.g. HPCSA, SANC etc.) and other supporting documents should accompany all applications. e.g qualifications, Identity document, driver’s license etc.
3. Response Email addresses of the relevant HR representative and is supplied at the end of each regional adverts. The onus is on the applicant to ensure that their application has been received. Incomplete applications and applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
4. Candidates credentials will be subject to criminal record checks, citizen verification, financial record checks, qualification/Study verification, previous employment verification, social media accounts behaviour/comments verifications.

Key Job Responsibility: ■ To oversee the development and sustainability of regular reports requested, externally or internally, and the ad hoc extraction of data, in an ethical manner, for researchers to support the NHLS research and delivery improvement mandates. ■ To develop a detailed understanding of the information required by external and internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of pertinent, accurate information to support healthcare policy decisions. ■ To perform literature searches to supplement specialist knowledge. ■ To improve the accuracy of data in the CDW by working with IT specialists to resolve any data quality problems that are identified. ■ To profile data and design and validate reports which support the information requirements of internal and external stakeholders. ■ To generate, analyse and interpret statistical data to provide support to the NHLS.

Key Job Responsibility: ■To coordinate all continuous quality improvement project activities related to accreditation of laboratories, efficient provision of HIV Point of Care Proficiency Testing and Independent Quality Control■ To coordinate meetings related to the project with all stakeholders■ To ensure that supplies are available for provision of Proficiency Testing Schemes and Independent Quality Control samples and training panels■ To follow up on procurement activities with both suppliers and NHLS departments■ To coordinate training and workshops■ To monitor accreditation progress of laboratories■ To collate audit reports and analyse data for laboratories to identify gaps for improvement projects or training■ To prepare and coordinate project reports and presentations for Management, Department of Health, Partners and Sponsors to ensure that the project is communicated efficiently among stakeholders■ To ensure that all project documents are kept up to date in line with the approved protocol and filed for record and audit purposes■ To monitor the project budget and financial activities■ To monitor and control the project plan to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with sponsor and NHLS requirements.

Key Job Responsibility: ■ To ensure all requisitions are being converted into purchase orders timeously according to the standard procurement procedure■ To measure supplier performance by following up [in writing or telephonically] on overdue orders on a weekly and monthly basis and generate reports for the procurement supervisor■ To have supplier data packs completed by new suppliers and have information captured on Oracle by Procurement [Data Management] ■To address constraints and delays by proactively communicating the procurement requirements with the internal and external customers■ In regions where needed, to place request for quotes (RFQ), contractors or source quotations or equipment below the cut off amount as per specification from end-users contract as per NHLS functionality evaluation and processes■ To perform general procurement administration e.g ensuring that all documents are printed and filed for record and audit purposes, etc ■ To clean up of the system by closing open orders in accordance to procedure■ To compile monthly and quarterly reports ■To report non-conforming suppliers to Corporate Procurement to enable them to blacklist companies as and when required in accordance with the National Treasury Regulations.
