CORPORATE – PAYROLL MANAGER

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITY
• Manage and direct payroll operations by signing off the final system download as required to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standard operating procedures, and financial deadlines
• Authorise and maintain changes in payroll system parameters to ensure control over methods and correctness of payroll applications
• Implement and advise on corrective measures in terms of identified payroll risks to be applied to ensure compliance with relevant human resources, financial and payroll legislation, policies, and standard operating procedures
• Oversee the preparation of management reports and interpretation of data to advise on key issues to be addressed and / or investigated by senior management
• Sign off and authorize third parties’ payments, net salaries, and statutory funds in accordance with internal risk management controls
• Develop and manage payroll staff to ensure that they have the required skills and can perform and achieve their key accountabilities and performance objectives
• Development and manage controllers to achieve adequate succession planning.
• Facilitate the audit process for the payroll module
• Perform other / ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time         
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant qualification (finance, HR & payroll) at NQF level 6
• 8 years’ experience in Payroll environment
• At least 5 years supervisory or management experience
• Track record of managing payroll in excess of 3000 employees
• Managing People
