NATIONAL FILM & VIDEO FOUNDATION (NFVF)
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) that was created to ensure the equitable growth of South Africa's film and video industry. The NFVF executes its mandate through providing funding for the development, production, marketing and distribution of films and also the training and development of filmmakers.
In addition, the NFVF commissions research and produces industry statistics that provide both the public and stakeholders with valuable insights into the South African film industry.
The NFVF invites interested applicants who meet the criteria to apply for the following vacancy:
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

Position Status: 5 – Year Fixed Term Contract
Job Purpose
The position of the Chief Executive Officer will be to develop and oversee the strategy of the NFVF.
The CEO will also be required to direct, lead and manage the NFVF in its strategic growth and operations path as well as to deliver on the mandate of the NFVF.
Qualification & Experience:
• A Post Graduate Qualification (NQF level 8) in Public Administration/Governance or Business Management
• A Masters qualification will be an added advantage (NQF level 9)
• A minimum of fifteen (15) years management experience, of which five (5) must be at an executive level within the public sector
• Expert understanding of Corporate Governance and the Public Finance Management Act
• Extensive experience of strategic human capital, and governance related matters
• Extensive experience in managing a robust stakeholder environment
• A proven ability to lead transformation initiatives and democratic governance

Key performance areas:
• Develop and implement the NFVF strategy through consultation with the Heads of Department
• Develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders including the DSAC, funders, inter-governmental agencies and partners, locally and internationally
• Monitoring of budget expenditure and compliance with PFMA, National Treasury Regulations and other relevant legislation
• Ensure NFVF is financially resourced and that resources are effectively managed
• Oversee the sourcing of alternative funding and the development of strategies to approach funders and submitting of proposals
• Manage key stakeholders at a strategic level
• Provide strategic leadership and management in compliance with applicable policies and legislation
• Ensure that all corporate governance requirements, especially the provisions of the Public Finance Management Act are complied with
• Position the NFVF as a thought leader in research and knowledge on matters pertaining to the film industry
• Act as the Link between the NFVF and the Council, and oversee all Council matters in the Office of the CEO
• Ensure that the organisational structure is aligned to the needs of the NFVF
• Oversee the management and delivery of programs and ensure programs are aligned to the strategy and mandate of the NFVF
• Implement Council decisions and execute specific tasks expeditiously as mandated by the Council
• Develop and implement turnaround strategies that will improve the operational efficiency of the organization
