NATIONAL ENERGY REGULATOR (NERSA)
 
The National Energy Regulator (NERSA) is a regulatory authority established as a juristic person in terms of Section 3 of the National Energy Regulator Act, 2004 (Act No. 40 of 2004). NERSA’s mandate is to regulate the electricity, piped-gas and petroleum pipeline industries in terms of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (Act No. 4 of 2006), Gas Act, 2001 (Act No. 48 of 2001) and Petroleum Pipelines Act, 2003 (Act No. 60 of 2003). The structure of the Energy Regulator consists of nine members, five of whom are part-time and four are full-time, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Energy Regulator is supported by a secretariat under the direction of the CEO. The Energy Regulator wishes to recruit personnel with appropriate competencies in the following areas: 
 


Coordinator
Department: Regulator Support Unit (RSU) 
Salary package: R295 239.00 – R434 194.00 per annum (CTC) 
(Reference: HR: 20/20) 
 
Requirements: * A National Diploma in Business Management / Administration or equivalent * Minimum three (3) years’ working experience in an Administrative position. 
 
The candidate must be competent in the following: * Good communication (verbal and written) Skills * Interpersonal Skills * Analytical Skills * Time Management Skills. 
 
Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Manager - Regulator Support Unit: the incumbent is expected to render administrative functions of the Regulator Support Unit and assist Committee Secretaries in rendering their functions. 

 
Key responsibilitiesThe successful incumbent will be responsible for, amongst others, the following :- Compiling Board packs of Energy Regulator, Committee and Subcommittee meetings and scanning submissions into Board pad for the Electronic packs * Producing hard copy packs for Energy Regulator Members and EXCO * Distributing hard copy packs to the Energy Regulator Members and EXCO * Posting Notices and Agendas on NERSA website for Regulator Members, EXCO, MANCO, Staff and Stakeholders (public) * Providing administrative support during Energy Regulator, Subcommittee, Committee and Public hearing meetings * Arranging refreshments and or meals for Energy Regulator Members, EXCO and MANCO * Providing Boardroom support for Energy Regulator Members, EXCO, MANCO and Staff.

Licensing Officer 
Department: Electricity Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution (ELC) 
Salary package: R295 239.00 – R434 194.00 per annum (CTC) 
(Reference: HR: 20/20) 
 
Requirements: * A National Diploma in Electrical Engineering * Minimum three (3) years’ working experience within the Electricity Supply Industry in generation, distribution or municipal distributions * Knowledge of the ESI industry * Licensing processes * Understanding of Municipal structures. 
 
The candidate must be competent in the following: * Good communication (verbal and written) Skills * Interpersonal Skills * Analytical Skills * Time management Skills. 
 
Key responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Department: Electricity Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution, the incumbent will be responsible for :- Developing and maintaining licensing frameworks for electricity distribution Handling of licensing matters – including amendments, exemptions, transfers, withdrawals and revocations Developing licensing conditions for electricity distribution in line with industry codes of practice, directives and standards Conducting Inspection in Loco of electricity facilities for purposes of licensing Preparing and sending information (licences, maps, areas of supply) requested by licensees Tracking and updating outstanding information from licensees Creating and updating electronic and hard copying filling system of licensees Handling of licensing queries relating to licences, maps and areas of supply Representing NERSA in interactions with licensees Assisting other Departments with technical enquiries and carry out other activities assigned by the Head of Department.
