Project Lead
Reporting Line: Nedlac Executive Director
Location: Gauteng

Project Lead
Reporting Line: Nedlac Executive Director
Location: Gauteng
Closing Date: 26 September 2025
Main Purpose
To ensure that projects align with broader National Dialogue goals and contribute to overall objectives.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Planning and Strategy
- Establish clear project goals, objectives, and deliverables that align with the National Dialogue's mission and stakeholder needs.
- Create comprehensive plans detailing tasks, timelines, required resources, and milestones to track progress.
- Conduct initial feasibility assessments and ensure the availability and efficient allocation of all necessary resources.
2. Execution and Implementation
- Lead, motivate, and provide technical support to project teams, defining expectations and conducting performance evaluations.
- Oversee the project budget, ensuring that all expenditures remain within approved limits.
- Manage all project resources, including human, financial, and material assets, to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure that all agreed actions are implemented.
3. Monitoring, Control and Evaluation
- Continuously monitor project progress, comparing it against the plan to identify any deviations.
- Proactively identify and manage risks and issues, developing contingency plans to minimize potential impacts.
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet established quality standards.
- Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate techniques.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to assess success, identify lessons learned, and inform future projects.
4. Communication and Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including the project team, donors, Steering Committee and its sub-committees, and partners.
- Provide regular, detailed reports on project status, progress, risks, and issues to management and other stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with implementing partners, vendors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Minimum Education:
- An Honour’s degree, preferably in business or an industry-related field, complemented by professional experience.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies (Agile/Prince2/Critical Path Method)
- Knowledge of South African Public Service legislation
- Leadership, Time Management, Problem Solving, Negotiation, Risk Management, Communication, Reporting, Technical Writing skills
- Computer literacy (MS 0ffice), including experience in Project Management applications.
Professional registrations:
- Project Management South Africa (PMSA)/ Project Management Institute (PMI) an added advantage
Remuneration Scale: R1 million per annum (all-inclusive package)
PROJECT COORDINATOR X2 (1X LOGISTICS, 1X CONTENT)
Reporting Line: National Dialogue Project Lead
Location: Gauteng
Closing Date: 26 September 2025
Main Purpose
To provide essential support to the project lead by coordinating daily tasks and activities, which helps in efficient project execution.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Planning and Coordination
- Assist in defining project scope and objectives, preparing project proposals, setting timelines, and coordinating resources, equipment, and activities to meet project goals.
- Prepare agenda for relevant structures of the National Dialogue, including the Steering Committee and other Sub-committees.
- Ensure effective coordination of various structures of the National Dialogue, including the Steering Committee and its Sub-Committees.
- Draft meeting documents such as decision matrices, minutes, attendance registers and reports.
- Disseminate meeting documents as per the set timelines.
- Coordinate and consolidate inputs from dialogues centres
- Resolve stakeholder queries and escalate unresolved queries to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings including travel, accommodation and catering
- Send invitations for meetings and events and manage confirmations.
- Procure goods and services as and when required, in line with applicable Nedlac policies.
- Verify accuracy of invoices prior to payments being made by the finance department.
- Maintain all records relating to the National Dialogue projects and processes.
2. Resource and Budget Management
- Coordinate resource allocation, monitor budget spend, and manage project finances, including processing invoices and maintaining financial records.
3. Monitoring and Reporting
- Track project progress, identify bottlenecks and risks, and monitor key performance indicators to ensure project alignment with objectives and resource availability.
- Provide regular reports on projects progress.
- Provide quality assurance for documents prior to circulation to relevant structures.
4. Communication and Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as a central point of communication for team members, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project requirements and progress.
5. Team Support and Management
- Organize team’s work, provide support and guidance, and manage project personnel to ensure adherence to policies and efficient operation.
Minimum Education:
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in business or an industry-related field, complemented by professional experience.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies (Agile/Prince2/Critical Path Method)
- Knowledge of South African Public Service legislation
- Knowledge of Document Management legislation, prescripts and best practice
- Leadership, Time Management, Planning and Organising, Risk Management, Communication, Reporting, Technical Writing skills
- Computer literacy (MS 0ffice), including experience in Project Management applications.
Remuneration Scale: R650 000,00 per annum (all-inclusive package)
