VACANCY: GENERAL SECRETARY
 
 
The Motor Industry Bargaining Council (MIBCO) was established in 1952 and is one of the largest bargaining councils in South Africa, with 330 staff members who serve 21 000 employers and 300 000 employees in the South African Motor Industry. The Council operates through its Shared Services Centre in Randburg, Gauteng and 6 Regional Offices countrywide.
 
The Bargaining Council represents two employers’ organizations and two trade unions who are the Parties to the Council and administers a range of collective agreements concluded by the Parties. Operations cover a wide range of issues related to the promotion of labour peace and stability, social security funds, dispute resolution and related matters.
 
The Council is seeking to employ a General Secretary, based in Randburg. This is the CEO position in the Council and suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply.
 
 
Minimum qualifications required are:
 A tertiary qualification at post graduate level in law and/or finance and/or business administration.
 Minimum of 15 years’ experience at senior executive level in the private or public sector.
 A keen understanding of South African labour legislation.
 Financially literate
 Excellent track record in relationship building and management.
 


The remuneration package associated with the position reflects its seniority and is market related.
