NATIONAL CREDIT REGULATOR (NCR)
The National Credit Regulator (NCR) was established as the regulator under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (the Act) and is responsible for the regulation of the South African credit industry.
It is tasked with carrying out education, research, policy development, registration of industry participants, i.e. credit providers, credit bureaux, alternative dispute resolution agents, payment distribution agents and debt counsellors, investigation of complaints, and enforcement of the Act.
The Act requires the NCR to promote the development of an accessible credit market, particularly to address the needs of historically disadvantaged persons, low income persons, and remote, isolated or low density communities.
The NCR invites applications from suitable candidates for the following position:
INDUSTRY ANALYST
Paterson Grade: D-Lower
Salary ranges from R405 200 – R769 900

Requirements:
▪ The successful candidate must hold a 3-year qualification or equivalent degree, majoring in statistics, mathematics, or finance.
▪ Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in data analysis.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
▪ Conducting analysis of the consumer credit market by analyzing statistical returns from registered credit providers and credit insurers.
▪ Collate, validate, and analyze insurance and credit provider data.
▪ Monitoring of trends relating to the key drivers of credit, credit consumption cycles, price, competition, and different types of credit products.
▪ Analyzing of statutory on credit life insurance.
▪ Building and maintaining relations with relevant stakeholders.
Knowledge:
▪ Good knowledge of the National Credit Act (NCA).
▪ Statistics, mathematics, finance, and economics.
▪ Analysis of financial statements.
▪ Extensive knowledge of short and long terms insurance act.
▪ Extensive knowledge of various credit life and other policies
▪ Good knowledge of insurance ratios.
▪ MS Excel and power point presentation.
▪ Knowledge of insurance terminology
Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
▪ The candidate must be computer literate and possess good financial analysis skills.
▪ Strong research skills.
▪ Organizational skills and relationship building/management skills.
▪ Self- starter and ability to work independently.
