NATIONAL CREDIT REGULATOR (NCR)
 
The National Credit Regulator (NCR) was established as the regulator under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (the Act) and is responsible for the regulation of the South African credit industry. It is tasked with carrying out education, research, policy development, registration of industry participants, i.e. credit providers, credit bureaux, alternative dispute resolution agents, payment distribution agents and debt counsellors, investigation of complaints, and enforcement of the Act.
The Act requires the NCR to promote the development of an accessible credit market, particularly to address the needs of historically disadvantaged persons, low income persons, and remote, isolated or low density communities. 
 


​The NCR invites applications from suitable candidates for the following position:

 
SUPERVISOR: INTERNAL AUDIT
(3-year fixed-term contract appointment)
Paterson Grade: D - Lower
Salary Ranges from: R405 200 – R769 9000 maximum

Requirements:
▪ The successful candidate must have a diploma / degree in Finance, Accounting, Internal Auditing, Information Systems, preferably - Honours degree/ Post graduate diploma.
▪ CIA/CISA/CFE will be added advantage.
▪ At least 7 -10 years’ experience, of which 3 should be at Supervisory level.
▪ Experience in a regulatory environment will be added advantage.
▪ Membership with the IIASA
 
Duties:
▪ To provide high level of audit service.
▪ To manage aspects of the audit process.
▪ To review audit reports.
▪ To assess and discuss management comments
▪ To manage and lead a team.
▪ To monitor adherence to audit plan.
▪ To perform allocation of resources.
▪ Continuous assessment of audits of peers.
▪ Participate in Combined Assurance Forum as 3rd line of defence.
▪ Presenting audit findings to EXCO & Audit & Risk Management Committee.
▪ Ability to negotiate at higher level and to manage conflict.
 
Knowledge:
▪ National Credit Act.
▪ Strong understanding of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, King IV.
▪ Extensive knowledge in areas of governance, risk management and strategy management
▪ Knowledge of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (ISPPIA)
