NATIONAL CREDIT REGULATOR (NCR)
The National Credit Regulator (NCR) was established as the regulator under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (the Act) and is responsible for the regulation of the South African credit industry. It is tasked with carrying out education, research, policy development, registration of industry participants, i.e. credit providers, credit bureaux, alternative dispute resolution agents, payment distribution agents and debt counsellors, investigation of complaints, and enforcement of the Act.
The Act requires the NCR to promote the development of an accessible credit market, particularly to address the needs of historically disadvantaged persons, low income persons, and remote, isolated or low density communities.
The NCR invites applications from suitable candidates for the following position:
Position: Junior Complaints Officer
Paterson Grade: B-Upper
Salary ranges from R103 300 – R185 900 maximum
Requirements:
The successful candidate must hold a relevant three year diploma/degree in legal, commerce or equivalent
qualification with at least one (1) year working experience in legal, credit or regulatory environment.
Debt counselling certificate will be an added advantage
Duties:
Effectively evaluate complaints relating to allegations of non-compliance with the National Credit Act.
Implementing in-house complaints handling process in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
In evaluating complaints, provide and maintain a high level of quality work.
Report writing.
Establish and maintain good relations with internal and external key stakeholders.
Participating in team activities aimed at improving customer satisfaction and business performance.
Knowledge:
Good knowledge of the National Credit Act.
Complaints resolution processes
Understanding of the South African Credit Market.
General understanding of Debt counselling processes
Skills:
Computer literacy.
Strong personal and professional ethics. Team player.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, administrative skills.
Ability to work under immense pressure.
Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
