The Tribunal seeks suitably qualified candidates to fill in the vacant position of Executive Strategic Support. The National Consumer Tribunal (The Tribunal) was established in 2006 in terms of section 26(1) of the National Credit Act, No. 34 of 2005. The National Consumer Tribunal is an independent adjudicative body with jurisdiction throughout the Republic. Its purpose is to adjudicate on credit and consumer related matters provided for in the National Credit Act (NCA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and to rule on alleged contraventions of these Acts.
 
 
Executive Strategic Support
(NCT21/ESS-001)
Position Reports to: Executive Chairperson
Job Grade: Patterson D2
Remuneration: R 1000 137.35 (An annual total cost to company)
Status: Permanent Position
 
Job Purpose: To provide comprehensive support to the Executive Chairperson through efficient management and adjudication of cases referred to NCT.
 
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications: • An LLB degree (LLM will be an advantage) • Admitted Attorney/Advocate • 5 years' experience in a legal environment.
 
Knowledge and Skills: • In-depth knowledge of the National Credit Act and the Consumer Protection Act • Excellent decision making and judgement skills • Strong research skills • Excellent verbal and written communication • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent time management skills
