To serve as an Independent Member of the Audit and Risk Committee, and to also serve as an Independent Chairperson of the Risk Management sub-Committee
Duration of the Contract: Three (3) Years Fixed Term - Non-Executive Position
Reporting To: Chairperson of the NAMC Audit and Risk Committee
Based: Pretoria (or as agreed)

The National Agricultural Marketing Council (NAMC), established under the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, invites applications for 1 x Independent Member to serve on its Audit & Risk Committee and as Chairperson of the Risk Sub-Committee.
 
Requirements: • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk, Law, Auditing, or related • Min 5 yrs’ experience in audit/governance • Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regs, King IV • Public sector/regulatory exp. an advantage • Membership of IRMSA, IIA, IODSA or CIA/CISA/CA/SAICA essential • MAP Act/agriculture knowledge an advantage.
 
Key Duties: Oversight of risk, governance, compliance & audit; review of financial statements & audit findings; advise CEO & Council; promote ethical conduct & transparency.
 
Contract: 3 years (non-executive), subject to annual assessment.

The NAMC, established under the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act, 1996 (Act No. 47 of 1996), seeks a suitably qualified individual to serve as an Independent Member of its Audit & Risk Committee. The Committee provides oversight of financial reporting, risk management, governance, compliance, and internal controls in line with the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and King IV.
 
Requirements: • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk, Law, Auditing, or related • Min. 5 years’ experience in audit/governance • Knowledge of PFMA & regulatory frameworks • Public sector/regulatory experience advantageous • Membership of IRMSA, IIA, IODSA or registered professional (CIA, CISA, CA, SAICA) • Knowledge of MAP Act/agricultural sector advantageous.
 
Key Responsibilities: • Serve on Audit & Risk Committee and Risk Sub-Committee • Provide independent advice on governance, risk, audit & compliance • Review financial statements, internal & external audit outcomes • Promote ethical conduct, transparency & effective internal control • Report annually to Accounting Authority on governance, risk & controls.
