AUDIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS
 
 
Section 166 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003, requires Council to constitute an Audit Committee as an independent advisory body. In accordance with provisions of the MFMA and Local Government: Municipal Planning and Performance Management Regulation of 2006, Moretele Local Municipality seeks to appoint suitably qualified professionals to serve as audit committee members.
 
Term of office and remuneration:
Term of office will be three years, thereafter, it will be subjected for review at Council's discretion.
Remuneration is at rates specified by Treasury Regulations 20.2.2.
 
Requirements:
• Expertise in either of the following areas:
  • Financial management, Accounting and Auditing
  • Performance Management
  • Risk Management
  • Legal.
• Proven experience in serving as an Audit Committee Member.
• Interest in local community affairs and the ability to contribute to transparent administration and good governance.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of local government issues and national development imperatives.
 
Key Functions:
Persons interested and who am eminently qualified will be expected to render amongst others advisory services in the following areas:
• Internal Audit
• Risk Management
• Performance Management
• Internal Financial Controls
• Accounting Policies
• Adequacy, reliability and accuracy of financial reporting and information
• Effective governance
• Review of the annual financial statements Report of the Auditor-General
• Investigations into financial affairs of the Municipality
