MOLEMOLE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
 
INVITATION TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE AUDIT COMMITTEE
 
The Molemole Local Municipality calls on all independent, suitably qualified, competent and interested persons to serve as a member of the Audit Committee for a period of three (3) years.
 
 
Requirements: The member must have auditing and risk management background. A thorough understanding and knowledge of the municipal environment and Public Service Regulations. Performance management, legal, Information Technology and should possess excellent analytical and good communications skills. The candidates should have prior experience in serving on the Audit Committee of similar sized organization. Not be a political office bearer. Membership with a recognized professional body will be advantageous.
 
Responsibilities: Fulfil the statutory role of the Audit Committee in terms of the MFMA, Treasury Regulations and other applicable regulatory frameworks. Advise the municipal Council, Accounting Officer and management of the municipality on audit related matters. Help to strengthen objectivity and credibility of financial and operating reporting. Review the Annual Financial Statements to provide Council of the Municipality with an authoritative creditable view of the financial position of the municipality, its efficiency and effectiveness and its overall level of compliance with MFMA, the Division of Revenue Act and any other applicable legislation. Monitor the performance of Internal Audit Unit.

Remuneration: The members of the Audit Committee are remunerated in accordance with prescripts and guidelines published by National Treasury.
