REQUIREMENTS
-Grade 12. -National Diploma in library science or Information Management or equivalent NQF 6 qualification. -Code 08 Driver’s License. -Previous experience within a public library environment will be a strong recommendation. -Registered with LIASA will be an added advantage. -A highly motivated, self-disciplined individual. -Excellent communication, telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills. -Skills and competencies associated with vocation: adaptability, communication, assertiveness/leadership skills, conflict and stress management, negotiation skills, problem solving skills, office/diary management skills, strong administrative skills, writing and typing skills, attention to detail. -Proven knowledge of administration methods, principles, procedures and the application thereof within a public library environment. -Two (02) to Three (03) years’ relevant experience in a Public Library environment within a Local Government Authority.
 
DUTIES
-Provide an effective and professional library information service to the community. -Responsible for the preparation, filing, sorting and indexing of new and existing books. -Responsible for processing library information and statistics. -Responsible to assist with user guidance, study guidance and general enquiries. -Responsible for counter duty and receiving money for book fines and photocopy charges. -Maintain the physical quality of library material. -Maintain and update the library catalogue. -Perform any other Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
 
SALARY R 246 336.00 p.a. – R 281 388,00 p.a. (Level 08 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)
Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 396 667,92 p.a.

Responsible for cleaning of offices, bathrooms, stockroom, and the kitchen and ensure a clean & healthy working environment for employees and the public. -Serve tea and coffee to the visitors of the department. -Preparation of venue for meeting by cleaning, putting out water decanters and glasses, and refreshments. -Assist with general office administration duties, when working schedule is complete. -Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
