Job Description
An excellent opportunity exists for the position of two Process Controllers, to be based at the RBM Water and Waste Water Treatment Works in Mzingazi, Richards Bay. The incumbents will be involved in operating the Water and Waste Water Treatment Works and associated infrastructure according to set standards and procedures in order to produce potable water and dispose effluent that meets legislative requirements.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Conduct process inspections including checking of the pump stations and report deviations/
    malfunctions to the Supervisor;
  • Operate Pumps and other plant equipment;
  • Sample collection and preservation as per the applicable procedures;
  • Mixing of process chemicals as and when required;
  • Perform various analysis, tests and record information and do the necessary adjustments;
  • Check and verify that all instrument verifications and analysis results are within specifications;
  • Receive chemicals in bulk and ensure that they are stored correctly;
  • Compliance to Health and Safety, Environment and Quality Requirements.

Requirements
  • Matric or Grade 12 with a minimum of NQF Level 3 Formal Qualification/Certificate in Water and Waste Water Treatment is essential.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Ability to use laboratory equipment used to test water quality in a water and waste water treatment
    plant.
  • Must be able to communicate process information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
  • Learning and application skills.
  • Teamwork and co-operation with others is essential.
  • Be physically fit, and prepared to carry heavy loads.
  • Code EB Driver’s Licence.

Please note that this position is contract based and is not part of the Mhlathuze Water staff establishment, therefore the successful candidate must be prepared to be transferred should Mhlathuze Water not be awarded this contract by RBM in the coming years.
