SHORT TERM CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT - (STC)
 
Metro Trading Company has the following short-term contract opportunities for a period NOT exceeding six (6) months
 
Department: Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC)
Position: Legal Contracts Governance (STC)
Salary Range: Market Related Salary
Division or Cluster: Head Legal
Reports to: Head Legal
Workplace: Braampark

Educational Requirements and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies or Similar Discipline preferred
• Three (3) years' relevant experience in Legal and Contract Management.
• Experience in a Supply Chain fraternity will be advantageous.
• Experience in the following is highly preferred:-
- Drafting agreements
- Reviewing agreements
- Edits / Redlining
- Contract Lifecycle Management
 
Experience and competency
• Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
• Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others readily follow.
• Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one and group situations.
• Application of organizational standards through the development of proposal requests, negotiating terms and drafting contracts.


Short Detailed Job Description:
• Management of contracts made with customers, vendors, shareholder, employees etc.
• Ability to negotiate, support and manage effective contracts.
• Negotiate the terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during its implementation or execution.
• Ensure that a filing system is kept, and contracts are safe and can be easily accessed.
• Ensure that all procurement compliance requirements have been met.
• Maintain and update SCM risk register, addressing mitigating factors and implementing action plan.
• Ensure good governance and compliance with audit, as well as legislative requirements.
• Review standard bid documents to ensure that they are up-to-date and efficient.
• Monitor the policy developments and standard bid documents that govern the SCM policies and procedures to ensure that they are up-to-date and efficient.

• Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the organization's financial performance.
