Metro Trading Company has the following short-term contract opportunities for a period NOT exceeding six (6) months
Department: Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC)
Position: Risk and Assurance Manager (STC)
Salary Range: Market Related Salary
Division or Cluster: Risk and Compliance
Reports to: Head- Risk and Compliance
Workplace: Braampark
Educational Requirements and Experience
• Degree in Internal Auditing / Risk Management
• 7 years related experience of which 2 years has been at management level
Experience and competency
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of risk, control and auditing methodologies
• Good communication, interpersonal, presentation, and conflict resolution skills
• A valid driver's license is essential
Short Detailed Job Description:
• Develop a Risk Management Strategy to determine risk appetites and risk limitations to drive operational and strategic risk management
• Develop and implement risk framework aligned to the Risk Management Strategy
• Develop and implement risk assessment processes and plans for the organisation
• Facilitate enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitor priority risks
• Engage with Departments on risk management capabilities and report and monitor risk appetites and tolerance levels
• Oversee the implementation of a fraud prevention operating model
• Prepare risk reports for presentation to the relevant stakeholders to feed back on the organisation's risk profile
• Prepare reports on compliance and submit through to the relevant key stakeholders
• Conduct risk mapping using the strategic, key operational and business unit-level risk profiles to establish what risks are assured and by whom and what risks should be assured and by whom
• Design the blueprint for the combined assurance which includes the risk-based assurance coverage, analysed per assurance provider and management/ governance committee responsible
• Ensure that significant legislative or regulatory issues impacting the organisation are recognized and addressed appropriately
• Assist in the investigation of significant suspected fraudulent activities within the organisation and notify the Audit Committee of the outcome
• Ensure that quality and continuous improvement are fostered in the organisation's control process
