SHORT TERM CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT - (STC)
Metro Trading Company has the following short-term contract opportunities for a period NOT exceeding six (6) months
Department: Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC)
Position: NOC Manager (STC)
Salary Range: Market Related Salary
Division or Cluster: Operational Director
Reports to: GM: Network Operations
Workplace: Braampark
Educational Requirements and Experience
• CCNP/CCIE or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education.
• At least five (5) years' related experience.
• Two (2) years' experience at a senior level.
Experience and competency
• Working knowledge of Internet architecture, IP networking technologies (TCP/IP,IPv4/6,routing/switching protocols, BGP, MPLS) and large-scale network hardware platforms. Good working knowledge of major networking components, network operating
• Experience in telecommunications, including at carrier class scale involving optical network infrastructure,transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers and data services.
• Experience managing or directing field operation technicians, engineers, contractors or vendors in a Telco working environment.
• Experience with network design, installation and maintenance for service providers or enterprise networks.
• Hands on knowledge of the procedures used in the installation, modification maintenance of fiber infrastructure
• Project Management experience
• Experience managing budgets.

• Broad understanding of information technology
• Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability

Short Detailed Job Description:
• Manage network and communications systems throughout the MTC network
• Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements
• Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performances statistics and reports
• Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the networkinfrastructure
• Provide technical leadership when interfacing with project managers
• Ensure network is always up and available
• Guide the detailing of high-level designs into deployable schedules and work packages.
• Generate implementation plans, field team schedules and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.
• Oversee engineers who install, commission, test and accept new deployment activities on global projects.

• Oversee network documentation, ensure proper updating and maintaining network drawings and plans, and generate Bill of Materials to support/manage appropriate equipment procurement.
