SHORT TERM CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT - (STC)
Metro Trading Company has the following short-term contract opportunities for a period NOT exceeding six (6) months
Department: Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC)
Position: Asset Manager (STC)
Salary Range: Market Related Salary
Division or Cluster: Finance
Reports to: Finance Manager
Workplace: Braampark
Educational Requirements and Experience
• Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting
• 5 years finance related experience
• 3 years managerial experience
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Healthy person — ability to work long hours and meet deadlines.
• Code 08 driver's license
Short Detailed Job Description:
• Schedule and monitor month end and year end procedures to ensure reporting takes place as prescribed in terms of legislation and guidelines.
• Enter into service agreement with supplier and advise management on financial management issues and general financial administration.
• Manages and controls specific accounting procedures associated with asset acquisitions and disposal.

Short Detailed Job Description:
• Schedule and monitor month end and year end procedures to ensure reporting takes place as prescribed in terms of legislation and guidelines.
• Enter into service agreement with supplier and advise management on financial management issues and general financial administration.
• Manages and controls specific accounting procedures associated with asset acquisitions and disposal.
• Compile monthly financial results and annual financial statements and report to management as prescribed in legislation.
• Assist internal and external auditors ensuring that all matters raised by these auditors in queries, managements letters and audit reports are addressed.
• Analyse trends, operating requirements and prepare capital and operating plans/estimates to determine funding for the financial year.
• Monitor the status of records associated with the assets of the MOE, applying internal control procedures to check, verify, update and maintain acquisition, valuation and location details.
• Identify designated staff responsibilities, authority, and personal performance measurement criteria.
• Assist internal and external auditors ensuring that all matters raised by these auditors in queries, managements letters and audit reports are addressed.
