PRIMARY OBJECTIVE(S) OF THE JOB
The position prepares tender documentation, quotations, advertise tender process and prepare action of price schedule.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Render Secretarial support to the Bid Specification Committee
- Render Secretarial support to the Pre-Bid Specification Committee
- Ensure availability of funds for requested items before convening bid Specification Committee meeting
- Linking requests to departmental acquisition plan
- Ensure proper record keeping of all Bid Specification Committee and Demand Management documents
- Ensure that MDDA complies with Procurement and Treasury legislative requirements
- In order to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to and contributes towards clean audit
- Assist in controlling and preparing tender documents according to requirements, quantities, technical specifications and commercial conditions as contained in the tender documents
- Accurately record price schedules to facilitate correct adjudication
- Maintain all procurement documents within MDDA
- Reduce lead time between scheduling and the award of contracts within MDDA
- Ensure compliance Supply Chain Management Policies and Procedures
- Liaise with other internal and external customers
- Provide in-depth, weekly monthly and quarterly reports to Management on key funding metrics

Assist in the preparation of the MDDA's overall budget.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND UPGRADE
Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA); Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and Supply Chain Management in the public sector; Public Audit Act; Treasury Regulations; and Public Administration would be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12
Diploma in Commerce or Public Finance Management or Supply Chain Management
At least one year experience in procurement/supply chain management.
Candidate must have a thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management Environment
