Job Summary and Requirements

The ICT specialist will also be responsible to oversee the computer/server room operations and environment and provide information, direction, and/or recommendations regarding network installations and configurations including television, intercom, telephone and wireless systems.

Job Summary and Requirements
The ICT Specialist is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing all of the network systems, subsystems and servers. The ICT specialist will also be responsible to oversee the computer/server room operations and environment and provide information, direction, and/or recommendations regarding network installations and configurations including television, intercom, telephone and wireless systems.
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
- Administers systems and servers related to LAN and WAN (e.g. email systems, accounts, print queue, workstation ID, IP assignments, computer labs, classroom computers, VOIP, security, antivirus, spyware, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorised users.
- Assesses incidents, complaints and/or accidents for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation.
- Designs computer networks (e.g. internet, web mail, FTP servers, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring effective and efficient operating systems.
- Installs network (client and server) software on a variety of platforms (e.g. service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades, etc.) for the purpose of upgrading and maintaining WAN/LAN and telecommunication systems.
- Maintains network operations and software applications (e.g. servers (file, print, application, WEB, database, proxy, etc.), operating systems, districtwide server backup, routine maintenance programs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient operations.
- Assists with the management of projects and program components including television, intercom and wireless services (e.g. migration to new systems, scheduling installations, product research, etc.) for the purpose of delivering services in compliance with established guidelines and/or objectives.
- Participates in a variety of planning and development activities for the purpose of creating short and long range plans.
- Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. training, supervising, evaluating, providing professional development opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and ensuring department outcomes are achieved.
- Recommends equipment, supplies and materials (e.g. purchase equipment, lease equipment, etc.) to the Senior ICT Manager for the purpose of acquiring required items and completing jobs efficiently.
- Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions to the Senior ICT Manager for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the institution’s goals and objectives.
- Researches trends, products, equipment, tests, etc. for the purpose of recommending procedures and/or purchases.
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. staff, administrators, school site personnel, outside vendors and service providers, etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance and support.
- Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware and/or software applications within the District’s local and wide area networks, television, wireless, intercom, telephones and security systems (e.g. servers, hubs, routers, network protocols, etc.) for the purpose of resolving operational issues and restoring services.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes
- Diploma or Honours Degree in IT related fields.
- MS Office Professional and/or Project Management qualifications might also be required.
- Other related IT certifications will also be accepted.
- The incumbent should have in-depth knowledge and experience in a specialised field or broad knowledge of a number of fields related to IT practices.
- The incumbent should also have about 8 years’ experience in the relevant or related fields.

SENIOR MANAGER: ICT

Job Summary
The Senior Manager: ICT is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, maintaining and repairing all network systems, subsystems and servers. The role provides oversight of computer and server room operations and advises on network installations and configurations including television, intercom, telephone and wireless systems.
The incumbent will also resolve network operational issues, provide technical support, and contribute to organisational effectiveness through strategic ICT leadership.
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, implements and coordinates IT strategy, policies, procedures, infrastructure and systems.
- Plans, organises, controls and evaluates IT and electronic data operations.
- Oversees acquisition and maintenance of technological infrastructure.
- Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems.
- Directs and organises all IT-related projects.
- Monitors technological advancements to enhance institutional competitiveness.
- Analyses IT costs, value and risks to advise management.
- Manages IT staff through training, coaching and performance appraisal.
- Preserves assets, information security and control structures.
- Assesses incidents, complaints and accidents to recommend resolutions.
- Participates in short- and long-range planning activities.
- Prepares reports, procedures, documentation and budgets.
- Researches trends, products and equipment to recommend improvements.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes
- Master’s Degree, Honours Degree or equivalent in an IT-related field.
- MS Office Professional and/or Project Management qualifications.
- Relevant IT certifications will be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of specialised IT fields or broad expertise across IT practices.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a relevant or related field.

Job Summary
The Senior Manager: HR Organisation and Talent Management is responsible for aligning workforce structures, organisational design, talent practices, and HR operations with MGSLG’s vision of being a globally recognised institute for excellence in school performance.
The role oversees strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, capability development, performance management, HR compliance, and operational efficiency, ensuring the organisation attracts, retains, develops, and motivates a high-performing workforce aligned to institutional priorities.
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
- Analyses workforce demographics, programme needs and delivery models to forecast staffing requirements.
- Develops organisational design frameworks including job evaluation, span of control and decision-rights mapping.
- Designs talent acquisition strategies promoting diversity and equitable programme delivery.
- Coordinates recruitment processes from job profiling to offer negotiation in a compliant and transparent manner.
- Develops institutional learning and capability development frameworks aligned to future skill needs.
- Evaluates training effectiveness using data-driven tools to inform continuous improvement.
- Facilitates transparent, evidence-based performance appraisal processes.
- Leads labour relations, union engagement, grievance and disciplinary processes, and CCMA representation.
- Integrates performance data with career progression, succession planning and capability development.
- Develops and manages annual HR budgets aligned with institutional strategies.
- Manages end-to-end HR operations including onboarding, contracts, benefits, leave and offboarding.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes
- Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Psychology or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) in Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Psychology or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in HR Management, Labour Relations or Organisational Design, with at least 3 years at management level.
- Proven computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
