BACKGROUND
Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance (MGSLG) is a Section 21 organisation located in Vrededorp, Johannesburg. MGSLG is an entity of the Gauteng Department of Education and was established to research, develop, implement and evaluate cutting edge capacity building programmes in the areas of school governance, leadership, management and teacher development to empower school governors, principals, deputy principals, HoDs and educators for schools in the Gauteng Province. The following posts are advertised as a priority to fulfil the mandate of the delivery of quality education in Gauteng schools.
 
SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY FACILITATORS (REF: SGB/GEN/2020) x 130 & SCHOOL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FACILITATORS (REF: SGB/FIN/2020) x 40
(To be deployed across the province)
CONTRACT TYPE: PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT
DURATION: 12-18 MONTHS
 
 
Job Summary
Ensure the efficient, effective and quality training development and support to School Governing Bodies.
 
Job Requirements: The incumbent must be available to work over weekends and/or evenings during the week.
Must be willing to travel across the province
 
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities: • Responsible for training, support and development of School Governing Bodies (SGBs) to ensure that SGBs are able to support and function effectively in schools. • May be required to play a Monitoring and Evaluation Role during training • Responsible for all training management and reporting • Responsible for conducting and analyzing pre and post tests • Responsible for ensuring that all conditions for training are of a high standard • Manage stakeholder relations at training sites • Represent and promote MGSL in a professional manner • May be approached to support materials development • May be approached to train the trainer.
 
 
Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes: • Minimum Qualification for the School Governing Body Facilitators positions is a Metric Certificate, however all additional Qualifications in Education or relevant qualifications in the sector with equivalent field knowledge will be an added advantage. • A B.Com degree or national diploma in Finance for the positions of School Financial Management Facilitators in order to support the provision of Financial Management training. • At least 4 to 5 years' experience in SGB Facilitation or facilitation within the education sector. • Any certification in Adult Facilitation will be an added advantage. • Ability to communicate in more than one language will be an added advantage. • Must have effective communication, and writing skills. • Must have good computer skills.
