The merSETA is the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Education and Training Authority established through the Skills Development Act. This SETA encompasses the metal and engineering, auto manufacturing, motor retail, tyre manufacturing and plastics industries.

We have an excellent opportunity for the following professional to join the Operations Division:
Manager: Programme Implementation (D3)
Salary Level (Min. to Mid): R811 068 – R957 061 pa
 
FIXED TERM CONTRACT ALIGNED TO THE SETA LICENCE TERM
Head Office
 
Purpose: The translation of the merSETA strategies and objectives by developing, organising and coordinating special projects, while providing guidance to the project team within the Programmes Implementation Unit on practical project administration and manage the progress of operations of special projects.
 
 
Duties: The duties include but are not limited to the following:
1. Advising regions on all programmes and processes in order for accurate implementation to take place.
2. Manage, review and monitoring of programme budget
3. Attending relevant Programme meetings
4. Formulate, organize, implement, monitor and report on project performance
5. Manage payment claims and maintain commitment schedule
6. Management of stakeholders in special projects
7. Oversee and manage the development of programme policies, guidelines and procedures.
8. Support internal and external audits
9. Provide human resources leadership to the project team
10. Manage staff performance and development
 
 
Qualities, experience, knowledge and skills required:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Project/Programme Management or similar field
 5 – 8 years proven project/programme management work experience within the SETA or public sector environment is essential
 Deadline driven, some overtime required in respect of month end or year-end deadlines and urgent/priority
 Solid work knowledge of the PFMA and other legislation and acts governing the SETA environment
 Good written and verbal communications skills
 Accuracy and attention to detail
 Corporate compliance
 Strong administrative skills
 Sound financial understanding
 Analysis and problem solving, ability to think strategically and conceptually
 Customer service orientation, effective networking across functional areas
 The ability to identify projects are implemented in terms of the strategy
 Ability to identify trends and take corrective action
 Inspire and motivate
 Ability to operate without supervision
 The ability to demonstrate a positive attitude to others.
