The merSETA is the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Education and Training Authority established through the Skills Development Act. This SETA encompasses the metal and engineering, auto manufacturing, motor retail, tyre manufacturing and plastics industries.

We have an excellent opportunity for the following professional to join the ICT Division:
 
Manager: Information Systems (D3)
Salary Level (Min. to Mid): R811 068 – R957 060 pa
FIXED TERM CONTRACT ALIGNED TO THE SETA LICENCE TERM
 
Head Office
Purpose: To ensure that the merSETA Information Systems and services are properly managed, optimally functioning and utilised through the effective management of IT assets, capacity planning, user support and risk mitigation.
 
 
Duties: The duties include but are not limited to the following:
1. Develop and enhance stakeholder relationships
2. Provide management with Information Systems related advice
3. Liaise with DHET, SAQA, NAMB in respect of data management and reporting
4. Improve communications with stakeholders
5. Develop procedures, work instructions and standards
6. Implement ICT strategy
7. Oversee management of Information Systems
8. Oversee risk management and good governance
9. Reporting/management information
10. Manage Information Systems projects
11. Compile cost centre budget
12. Assist in the development of CAPEX budget for the department
13. Manage department’s budget
14. Manage staff performance and development
 
 
Qualities, experience, knowledge and skills required:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent
 Post qualification experience of 5 years in ICT Service Management and Project Management experience
 Data Analytics and Reporting
 Travel and overtime as required in IT environment
