Key Performance Areas:

Minimum Requirements:
• Relevant National Diploma / Diploma in IT at NQF level 6.
• Two years’ experience and knowledge of library technologies.

• A minimum of a Master’s postgraduate qualification, ideally with a Natural Sciences or Chemical Engineering background.

Key Performance Areas:
• Teaching & conducting laboratory practical’s. Developing Lab manuals, course notes and assessing academic students’ work at Diploma and higher levels.
• Development of curriculum to align with 4IR international trends.
• Academic student support through progress monitoring and identifying “at risk” students timeously and developing intervention strategies.
• Enforcing the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.
• Continuous professional development through keeping abreast of latest developments in Computer/Electronics Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering.
• Conduct appropriate research, have evidence of success in obtaining funding for research, publish results, and initiate new research areas in the Department.
• Supervise, foster team spirit, and mentor junior staff and collaborate with other universities.
• Contribute to community engagement initiatives, liaise with industry, and facilitate cooperative education initiatives, form industrial alliances and partnerships.
• Perform other duties delegated by the HOD.
Minimum Requirements:
• PhD/DEng/DTech degree (Computer/Electronics Engineering) or master’s degree (Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering) with evidence of on-going research work at a Doctoral level after registration. The basic qualification should be BTech/BEng/BSc in Electronic/Computer Engineering or similar, with specialization in Telecommunication Engineering.
• At least four (4) years relevant post qualification teaching experience at a University level.
• At least one peer-reviewed article published in scholarly engineering DHET accredited journals in the last 2 years.
• Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
Recommendations:
• Candidate in possession of doctoral qualification and having the ability to specify relevant up-to-date training equipment in the field.
• At least four years relevant academic management experience.
• At least one-year suitable industrial Project/work experience with engineering scope.
Salary Scale: R604 638.00 – R799 364.00 (P7) basic salary per annum.
