Key Performance Areas:
• Leading and managing the implementation of the strategic activities
• Managing the lifecycle of licensed electronic resources, including ordering, payments and activation.
• Monitoring subscriptions, ensuring accurate bibliographic records.
• Maintaining URL links, communicating with vendors, and staying updated on emerging technologies.
• Executing workflows for acquiring, licensing, accessing, and maintaining electronic resources.
• Managing subscription renewals, payments, and usage statistics.
• Conducting training in the utilization of library resources and tools for academic writing

Minimum Requirements:
• B.Bibl degree, OR An NQF level 7 qualification in Library and Information Studies/Science (Bachelor’s, Advanced Diploma, Post-graduate Diploma, B-Tech)
• Honours or Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Three (3) years’ experience in: generating and analyzing e-resources data usage reports, negotiation and managing license agreements and contract renewals, and providing training of library e-resources utilization in a Higher Education environment.

Key Performance Areas:
• Ensuring that the current and future service level requirements (service warrant) of customers are identified, understood and documented.
• Define and document strategic and operational plans to achieve IT&N planned milestones by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future application and information system across the university.
• Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the projects portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major application and information systems.
• Define and communicate work plans, policies, and standards for the IT&N department.
• Assisting with the production and maintenance of an accurate service portfolio, service catalogue, application portfolio, and the maintenance procedures.
• Managing customer complaints including their recording, management, escalation (where necessary), and resolution.
• Frequent evaluation of actual spend against approved budget.
• Accountable of maximizing the productivity of staff in line with the IT&N strategic objectives for delivering efficient and effective IT services.
• Provide quarterly performance statistics and report to the Senior Director IT&N for reporting to the executive management committees.
• Responsible for the revision of the ITGC framework and ensuring the IT&N department complies.
• Responsible for risk management in preparing mitigation plans for risk in accordance with MUTs risk register.
• Develop new and revise existing protocols, policies and procedures in accordance with IT&N objectives.
• Prepare and conduct periodic service support reports to update governance teams and executive management regularly on progress, risk and issues.
Minimum Requirements:
• NQF 7 qualification relevant to Information Technology
• ITIL V3/V4 (Foundation) certification
• A minimum of eight (08) years’ experience in Information Technology support services, of which at least five (05) years’ experience of that should be supervisory responsibilities, leading a team of technical support staff.
