DEVELOPMENT (P6)
Key Performance Areas:
• Provide direction in collaboration with line functions to faculties as it relates to teaching and learning development.
• Coordinate academic support to teaching staff;
• Coordinate, monitor and report on the operational effectiveness of line functions within the TDLC;
• Conduct relevant institutional research to support the work of TLDC.
• Assist with the establishment of an in-house academic staff training system that addresses didactic challenges for staff employed in foundational programmes (ECP and PRETECH).
Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree with a specialisation in Education.
• 5 years of lecturing / teaching experience in a Higher Education Institution.
• Management experience at least at the level of Head of Academic Department.
• Project Management Experience.

• A doctoral degree is recommended.

OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR

The purpose of the position is to ensure good governance at MUT by directing the efficient and effective delivery of services in policy development, governance, compliance with the regulatory higher education framework and the management of the meetings of institutional and statutory committees.
Key Performance Areas:

Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Engineering. The basic qualification should be a BTech/BEng/BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Engineering.
• At least three years of teaching experience at the post-school level/three years of industrial experience.
Recommendations:
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Possession of a doctoral degree in the relevant field.

Key Performance Areas:
• Leading and managing the implementation of the strategic activities
• Planning and facilitating programme audits and accreditation activities
• Developing a relevant and rigorous collection
• Conducting training in the utilization of library resources and tools for academic writing
• Communication and marketing
Minimum Requirements:
• An NQF level 7 qualification (Bachelor’s Degree / Advance Diploma) in Library and Information Studies/Science OR Any Degree plus Post-graduate Diploma in LIS.
• Three (3) years’ experience in collection development, providing training in library resources utilization and providing writing research support in a Higher Education environment.
• Knowledge of information literacy.
• Knowledge of E-resources databases and Open Access resources
• Proven knowledge of research writing software applications (e.g. Turnitin, Grammarly, Excel, etc.)
• Proven knowledge and excellent skill in the use of referencing management tools (e.g. RefWorks, Endnote, Mendeley, Zotero
Recommendations:
• Honours with a research module component or Master’s Degree.
