PITCH SUPERVISOR-NELSON MANDELA BAY STADIUM

48 month fixed term contract
 
 
The MBDA is a municipal entity of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM),and acting as its agent, manages and operates the Nelson Mandela Bay Multi-Purpose Stadium.
The MBDA is seeking applications for a PITCH SUPERVISOR-NELSON MANDELA BAYSTADIUM that will be responsible for managing field maintenance and preparation of field for practice sessions, matches and events.
 
Key Deliverables include the following:
Oversee the maintenance of field by fertilising, cutting, sprinkler maintenance and assessing the plant conditions.
Identify necessary treatment and maintenance programs for the field.
Cut the grass according to the specified event requirements.
Mark the field according to international specifications.
Oversee the placing of all branded material on the field as per event requirement.
Oversee painting of on-field signage.
Oversee field during construction and events.

Oversee construction of electronic sign boards and media camera’s.
Adhere to health and safety requirements.
Prepare weekly maintenance plans for the Head of Department.
Prepare status reports (pre/post) for all events.
Collaborate with other business units/teams to ensure a consistent approach with regards to query approach and resolution.
Work in a manner that does not endanger yourself or others.
Oversee training and development of staff based on identified training needs.
Oversee adherence to all HR Policies, procedures and requirements to ensure sound people practices
Monitor staff morale and address any issues of concern with the Head of Department.
Report all safety hazards, accidents and incidents to the Head of Department.

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Turf Grass Management Certificate
Between 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
