LECTURER – PLUMBING/CIVIL (POST LEVEL1) 
Campus: Newcastle Training Centre 
Salary Range: R244 844 p.a. - R318 648 p.a. plus benefits as applicable in the Public Service 
Ref: LPC/01/2023 
 
Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/STD 10/NCV L4/Equivalent plus a relevant, recognized 3-year Diploma/Degree in the relevant field and a trade test (plumber). 
 
Recommendations:
  • At least 2 years post qualification industrial workplace experience in the relevant trade. 2 years’ experience in facilitation/ training for Apprenticeships / Learner ships/ NCV/ REPORT 191 
  • Appropriate Professional Education Qualification 
  • Knowledge of Competency Based Modular Training with reference to Apprenticeships / Learner ships. 
  • Trained Assessor and/or Moderator 
  • Registered with SACE 
  • Experience in design and development of learning material, facilitation guides, lesson guides and assessment tools. 
  • Knowledge of SAQA, NQF, Skills Development Act, FET Act and Learnerships. 
  • Excellent Communication and Verbal delivery skills 
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office) 
 
Duties:
  • Facilitation of subjects aligned to NCV Civil and Building Construction - Plumbing 
  • Assessment and Moderation of Learner output (ISAT, ICASS, Theory and Practical tests & Assignments). 
  • Management of Learner Achievements, Reports, Records, Evidence & Attendance, including POEs. 
  • Undertake all teaching functions within the NCV Programme (vocational subjects) including: 
    • Construction Planning L2-L4 
    • Plant and Equipment L2-L4 
    • Materials L2-L4 
    • Plumbing L2-L4 
 
Facilitation/Teaching of the integrated theory and practical curriculum. Assessments of learners as required by College policies. Record keeping – Registers, Mark sheets, Statement of results, Learner progress. Classroom management and data capturing. Stock control (consumables and non-consumables)

LECTURER – PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION (POST LEVEL1) 
Campus: Newcastle Training Centre 
Salary Range: R244 844 p.a. - R318 648 p.a. plus benefits as applicable in the Public Service 
Ref: LPI/02/2023 
 
Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/STD 10/NCV L4/Equivalent plus a relevant, recognized 3-year Diploma/Degree in the relevant field and a trade test (Instrument Mechanic). 
 
Recommendations:
  • At least 2 years post qualification industrial workplace experience in the relevant trade. 2 years’ experience in facilitation/ training for Apprenticeships / Learner ships/ NCV/ REPORT 191 
  • Appropriate Professional Education Qualification 
  • Knowledge of Competency Based Modular Training with reference to Apprenticeships / Learner ships.

  • Undertake all teaching functions within the NCV Programme (vocational subjects) including: 
  • Facilitation/Teaching of the integrated theory and practical curriculum. Assessments of learners as required by College policies. 
    • Electronic control and digital control L2-L4 
    • Engineering Fundamentals L2-L4 
    • Instrumentation Technology L2-L4 
 
Record keeping – Registers, Mark sheets, Statement of results, Learner progress. Classroom management and data capturing. Stock control (consumables and non-consumables)

STUDENT LIAISON OFFICER (SALARY LEVEL07) 
Campus: Newcastle Training Centre 
Salary Notch: R294 321, 00 p.a. plus benefits as applicable in the Public Service 
Ref: SLO/03/2023 
 
Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/STD 10/NCV L4/Equivalent plus a relevant, recognized BA Degree in Social Science/ Psychology/ Social Work (Major Psychology or equivalent qualification, 2 years of experience in a student support environment and a valid driver’s license. 
 
Recommendations: Knowledge of PSET and CET Act. Knowledge and understanding of the Student Support Services Act. Knowledge and understanding of electoral processes. Knowledge of teaching and learning. Knowledge of career guidance and extra-curricular activities. Knowledge of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme and related legislation. Knowledge of all other relevant Public TVET sector legislative frameworks and policies. 
 
Duties:
  • Provide student support services in the campus. 
  • Provide student counselling or referral services in the campus. 
  • Support student work placement and work integrated learning (WIL) programmes. 
  • Provide career guidance, counselling and academic support for students. 
  • Implement the sport, recreation, arts and culture programs for students in the campus. 
  • Facilitate student governance and student leadership development and exit support programme.
