R 1 550 000.00 CTC ANNUAL PACKAGE
(5- YEAR CONTRACT)
Magalies Water is a Water Board established in terms of section 28 of Water Services Act, (No 108 of 1997) and is classified as Government Business Enterprise as per Schedule 3B of the Public Finance Management Act (No. 1 of 1999) as amended.
A challenging opportunity exists for a dynamic professional with proven strategic leadership skills and the relevant technical expertise to occupy the position of GM: Engineering Services
Operating as a member of the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer and based at Head Office in Rustenburg, the successful candidate will be required to lead and manage the following functions: • Identify, develop and implement innovative and new business opportunities to grow the business and increase revenue. • Manage the monitoring, forecasting and demand for water, and secure raw water extraction licenses from DWS through applications and negotiations to ensure sufficient supply capacity. • Develop, implement and manage an effective stakeholder management model and relations strategy. • Establish and maintain effective and sound business relationships with platform owners to maximize income.
• Actively seek and establish national and international partnerships with regards to technology development and platforms. • Manage divisional and capital budgets to ensure cost effective utilization thereof and institutes cost control measures to ensure optimum benefit and minimum risk exposure • Identify projects, conduct feasibility studies and preliminary design, appoint consultants, determine institutional and social development needs, commission final design, secure funding, manage tender process and contractor appointment, evaluate contractors safety plan and manage project in terms of ISD, SHE, and payments.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 10 years work experience of which 5 should be at senior management in the similar role. Registration as a professional Engineer / Technologist with ECSA and Master's degree will be an added advantage.
Competencies and attributes: Extensive knowledge on change management, engineering principles, project & programme management, strategic management, people's management, and financial management. Must have experience of working in a business/public entity/public sector environment with extensive infrastructure assets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels • strong team leadership • Excellent negotiation, analytical, problem solving, report writing and presentation skills.
