LOCAL GOVERNMENT, WATER AND RELATED SERVICES SETA (LGSETA)
 


The Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) was established in terms of the Skills Development Act No. 97 of 1998 and is responsible for the facilitation of skills development within the local government sector.

POSITION OBJECTIVE / JOB STATEMENT
Brief summary of the main purpose of the job and the primary reason for its existence, scope and range of action.
 
To manage the full scope of ICT work within the business –adopting and overseeing the implementation of modern ICT infrastructure, systems and processes (technologies) to enable the effective and efficient running of the business and ensure the streamlined Operations of the ICT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the LGSETA.
  • Job Requirements: Com Honours –Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field (NQF level 7) • knowledge of CISO, COBIT, KING IV principles PFMA and applicable legislation Auditing skills.
  • Ideal: Postgraduate degree in Information Technology Systems, Computer Science or related field (NQF level 8) or an MBA. Member of ISACA will be added advantage, CISA Certified will be an added advantage and Experience in SETA environment will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years working experience within an ICT environment and at management level, 5 of which should have been at Senior Managerial level and at least 3 years’ direct experience in implementation of complex ICT and IS programmes.
 
Record of accomplishment in systems architectures development and implementation, as well as exposure to ICT infrastructure, its associated technologies. Proven ability to keep abreast of new information technology developments that will improve the management of information reporting (essential).
