CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INVESTIGATIVE COMMITTEE
REFERENCE NUMBER: CoGHSTA 18/22

The Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements & Traditional Affairs would like to call for expression of interest to qualified persons to apply to be enrolled on the database for Investigative Committee to resolve Traditional Leadership disputes within various traditional communities in the province.
 
The candidates must be in possession of a Degree in Public Administration, Anthropology/History / Social Science/ Law (LLB) or equivalent as recognized by SAQA. Valid driver’s license own means of driving, own transport, and willingness to travel extensively. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Limpopo Traditional Leadership and Institutions Act, No 6 of 2005.
 
Traditional Khoisan and Leadership Act, no.3 of 2019 is a requirement. Candidates must as well possess an extensive knowledge and understanding of anthropology or history relating to institutions of traditional leadership, understand customary law, customs, and traditions of various cultural groups in the province.
 
Successful candidates will be expected to develop project plans and analyze documents submitted to the investigative committee, conduct research and investigations, conduct consultations with relevant royal families and stakeholders in terms of the applicable provisions of the TKLA, compile committee reports, give evidence as and when required and called upon to do so.
Candidates whose profiles are successful will be appointed for a three-year period.
 
Appointed Members will be paid sitting and traveling allowances as determined by the Department of Public Service and Administration and the National Department of Transport.

Successful incumbents will be included on a database for a period of three years (3 years) and will be expected to sign a contract and performance agreement on assumption of duty. The database period shall be subject to review by the department.
 
Failure to comply with the requirement will result in the candidate being disqualified. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only.
