Lephalale is one of the fastest growing town in Limpopo due to the presence of natural coal reserves, huge industrial expansion projects initiated by mainly coal mining processing and electricity generation. Dynamic persons who wish to take the leading role in the development and exposure of the Lephalale Municipality are hereby invited to apply for the challenging positions of:
Manager: Administration and Secretariat: L2-1
Corporate Support Services Admin and Secretariat Division
Commencing salary: R481 464 - R507 684- R562 428 P/a plus monthly travelling allowance of 950 km
Requirements: Three-year Degree in Public Administration or equivalent company secretariat qualification (CIS/LLB) plus five (5) years secretariat experience of which three (3) years is at supervisory level i.e., EXCO, Council, Council Committee, Executive management and committee meeting co-ordination, administration, and secretariat services. Valid Code B driver’s license. Willingness to work irregular hours as and when required.
KP’s, inter alia, will: Manage secretariat function and other secretariat activities. Ensure that the secretariat division provides an effective and efficient service to all EXCO/Council Committees and other Governance Structures and within the prescribed timelines. Keep abreast and monitor the legislative developments, corporate governance standards and advice the committee on the developments. Assist with the compilation of the divisional business plan and assist with monitoring of the budget. Ensure that meeting packs are compiled in accordance with the prescribed process and ensure distribution of meeting packs within the prescribed timelines. Performs public and client service functions. Management of records and facilities.

Senior Security Officer: L5
(Municipal Manager’s Office: Protection Service Unit)
(Candidate will be subjected to security vetting by NIA)
Commencing Salary: R357 576-R375 804-R394 944 P/a
Requirements: Grade 12 Certificate plus five years’ experience in safety and Security/National Diploma security management or equivalent qualification with two (2) years’ experience. Ability to work independently and in a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Code B Driver’s license. Knowledge of safety and security regulations.
KPA’s Inter alia: Conduct preliminary investigation at incident scene, which include presentation of evidence and identification of witness. Conduct patrol on municipal sites by foot and vehicle. Provide ad-hoc security support to Lephalale Municipality Councillors, Executive Mangers e.g., escort duties. Enforce security regulations in accordance with prescribed policies and standard operating procedures. Perform security surveillance through the CCTV system. Carrying out regular vulnerability surveys, identifying risk and recommending improvements. Liaising with external security role players and attending safety and security forums.
Manager: Supply Chain Management: L2-1
(Budget and Treasury Directorate: Supply Chain Division
Commencing salary: R481 464 - R507 684- R562 428 P/a plus monthly travelling allowance of 950 km
Requirements: Degree in Financial Management/Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification. Computer literacy. Code B driver’s license. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Five (5) years’ experience in procurement of which three (3) years is at supervisory level. Experience in Local Government and registration with Chartered Instituted of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) will serve as an added advantage.
KPA’s Inter alia: Lead the development of systems, processes and methods which will form part of council’s financial policy in the implementation of supply chain. Manage legislative requirement in respect of supply chain. Keep record of bid advertised, received, approved, and executed.
Mechanic: L6
(Infrastructure Services: Electrical Division)
Commencing Salary: R315 900-R332 076-R348 948 P/a
Requirements: Grade 10/Motor Mechanic N2/Diesel Mechanic N2. Trade Test Motor Mechanic. A valid Code C1 Driver’s license. At least two (2) years relevant experience.
KPA’s Inter alia: Maintenance and repair work on all municipal vehicles, lawn mowers, machinery, power tools and mechanical equipment.
