FINANCIAL SYSTEM TECHNICIAN (SYSPRO TECHNICIAN)

The position is based at the Legal Aid SA National Office in Braamfontein.
 
KEY OUTPUTS
  • To assist in maintaining SYSPRO settings for users (granting user access).
  • Provide functional support to all business process users.
  • Print management reports on request.
  • Assist users with SYSPRO queries.
  • Assist in ensuring that all SYSPRO project goals are achieved within the project time frames and guidelines.
  • Adhere to good governance of the project (e.g., ensuring the existence of appropriate structures, systems, approvals and delegation levels, documentation of processes, both technical and governance-related documents, filing of information, etc.).
  • Provide technical support to both SYSPRO and eLAA integration.
  • Oversee that all SYSPRO-related SLA contracts are renewed on time.
  • Run daily, month-end and balancing of SYSPRO submodule.
  • Reconcile the submodules’ balances and sending them to Finance Managers.
  • Provide financial solutions/guidance and resolve variances that arise from the Finance section’s submodules.
  • Monitor system performance and engage with external SYSPRO consultants.
  • Add new and maintain GL Codes for the MIS section.
  • Add new and maintain the Product class for the Debtors section.
  • Add and maintain Asset accounts.
  • Review, provide comments where applicable and compile monthly reports (Job Logging, Amendment Journal and Termination List from HR).
  • Provide required data to both internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure timely SYSPRO license renewal.
  • Assist QA team when needed.
 
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
  • Grade 12 certificate plus a three (3) year Information Systems or Finance tertiary qualification.
  • Functional ability in the utilisation of ERP systems and technologies.
  • Able to create “functional integration” between the various users of the financial system and the organisation as a whole.
  • Understanding of basic systems support on any financial package.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience that would assist the incumbent in driving a service excellence mindset and building relationships within the organisation as a whole.
  • Financial and technical skills to support financial system projects.
  • Good consulting skills with a sophisticated collaborative style are advantageous.

BASIC SALARY: Level 8 (R397,116.00) plus benefits per annum

KEY OUTPUTS
  • To provide high-level system analysis, programming and related development solutions to Legal Aid SA end users in respect of business intelligence reporting, the core business application and web-based services.
  • Interpret, specify and provide solutions to business and information needs in respect of system development.
  • Produce functional and/or technical specifications based on determined user needs.
  • Obtain sign-off from clients according to functional/technical specifications.
  • Use industry-standard techniques and methodologies in acquiring client requirements.
  • Ensure all functional/technical testing is carried out and a log of test results is maintained, in accordance with the Information Systems (IS) Software Change Management Policy.
  • Integrate different systems, APIs and services to ensure seamless communication and data exchange.
  • Design, implement and manage databases to store and retrieve data efficiently.
  • Monitor, track and report on project progress.
  • Liaise with various administrators to coordinate the tracking of incidents and change requests.
  • Manage own development and efficiency in the IS environment.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line application support.
  • Expected to work extended hours when the need arises.
  • Maintain and update existing systems to ensure they remain secure, efficient and effective.
 
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
  • A recognised Grade 12 certificate plus a three (3) year Computer qualification obtained at a University/Technikon.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience in the Information Technology field.
  • 5 years or more in Microsoft.NET C# (ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, Windows Forms, etc.).
  • 3 years or more in Design and Develop K2 workflows, SmartForms, Views and Smart Objects.
  • 3 years or more in Experience with K2 Migration and Deployment Wizard.
  • 2 years or more in SharePoint Development (SharePoint 2013 or higher).
  • 2 years or more in Microsoft SQL 2014 or higher.
  • Service excellence imperative.

  • Monitor case flow management of Legal Practitioners, Candidate Attorneys and Judicare practitioners at court.
  • Assess the quality of Judicare work.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of work performed by Co-operation Partners.
  • Legal representation in criminal matters.
  • Ensure that the law library at the office is up-to-date and adequate.
 
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED
  • B Proc or LLB degree.
  • Admitted Attorney.
  • At least seven (7) years of post-admission legal experience.
  • Experience as a Senior Legal Practitioner or equivalent is preferable.
  • Legal Quality Assurance score of not less than 90%.
  • Must be able to mentor and supervise.
  • Legal representation and litigation skills.

  • A valid code 08 driver’s licence is compulsory.
