WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING PROGRAMME: 12-/24 MONTHS REFERENCE NUMBER: KZNDOT 2022/23/WIL
STIPEND: R6 083.00 PER MONTH
The Department of Transport is inviting all students for In-Service Training / Work Integrated Learning in the fields of Mechanical and Civil Engineering for a period of 12 to 24 months depending on the institutional requirements. The students will be deployed in the Department of Transport in KwaZulu Natal. This will provide an opportunity for the students to complete their qualifications in the specified fields. Learners will be paid a stipend of R6083.00 per month for the full duration of the programme.
Learners should be in possession of S4 in their respective fields.
Requirements for the In-Service Training/Work Integrated Programme:
• Applicants must be of a historically disadvantaged background.
• Applicants must have successfully completed S4 in their respective fields.
• Applicants must be prepared to undergo a selection process which will include a structured interview.
• Candidates must be prepared to be fully engaged in their essential work experience that is part of their qualification and necessary to achieve their qualifications.

DIRECTIONS TO APPLICANTS
• Applicants who have already participated in a Work Integrated Learnership Programme will not be considered.
• Applicants must note that they will be subjected to security screening.
• The successful applicants will be required to enter into an agreement with the Department.
• If invited for an interview, the costs incurred with attending the interview e.g. transport, accommodation etc. will be the responsibility of the applicant.
• Under no circumstances will faxed or e-mail applications be accepted
APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING {ALL INFORMATION WILL BE VERIFIED}:
Only one application per applicant will be accepted. Applicants are required to apply for the Work Integrated Learning Programme position within the Magisterial District in which they reside.

Applications must be submitted on the NEW Application for Employment Form, Z83 (obtainable on the internet at www.dpsa.gov.za-vacancies. Applicants are advised that all fields of the new Z83 form are compulsory to complete and that the application should be originally signed. Clearly state on the new Z83 form the FIELD OF STUDY, THE REGIONAL OFFICE AND AREA OF PLACEMENT YOU ARE APPLYING. Should an application be received using the incorrect application for employment (Z83) or the application is not completed in full, initialled, dated and signed, such application will not be considered. The fully completed and signed Z83 must be accompanied by the following:
(i) A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
(ii) Originally certified letter from the Institution not older than 3 months indicating that they require In-Service Training.
(iii) Applicants must attach a signed affidavit from a Commissioner of Oaths indicating they are unemployed and have never participated in a Work Integrated Learning Programme.
(iv) NB: Failure to submit the required documentation will result in the application not being considered.
Candidates short-listed for an interview will be required to provide the following documentation, on the date of the interview and failure to do so will result in the candidate being disqualified for the position:
• Certified copies of qualifications, driver’s license (where applicable).
• Identity Document/Permanent Resident Permit for non-RSA Citizens (where applicable).
