ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER GRADE A: ENVIRONMENTAL EMPOWERMENT SERVICES X10 
Appropriate salary will be determined according to the regulatory framework (Based on OSD) 
Districts: King Cetshwayo X2, eThekwini X1, uMzinyathi X1, Ugu X1, uMkhanyakude X1, uMgungundlovu X1, Zululand X1, uThukela X1 and Amajuba X1

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a National Diploma/ Degree in Environmental Management / Natural Sciences field and a valid driver’s licence. Computer is a prerequisite. 
 
Competencies required:  Good knowledge of Environmental legislation, Regulatory Frameworks for the Public Service, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Promotion of Information Act, Skills Development Act, Occupational Health and safety Act, Promotion of Administrative Justice Act.  Project Management skills, Interpersonal relations , Computer skills, Administrative skills, Time management skills, Communications skills ( written and Verbal) , Report writing skills, Presentation skills , Analytical skills, Problem solving skills  Candidates must be self-discipline and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
 
 
Key responsibilities include: 
⧫ Participate in the implementation of environmental education programs to assist with the integration of Environmental Education into formal structures (schools, SETA, ABET, higher education etc). 
⧫ Implement Environmental capacity building programmes for the general public and relevant stakeholders (informal) 
⧫ Develop and implement community based sustainable resource management and environmental action projects for sustainable development. 
⧫ Promote and implement environmental awareness programs. 
⧫ Perform administrative and related functions

ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER PRODUCTION A: POLLUTION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT X12

Districts: eThekwini X3, uThukela X1, King Cetshwayo X1, uMzinyathi X1, uMkhanyakude X1, Ugu X1, Amajuba X1 uMgungundlovu X1, Amajuba X1 and iLembe X1

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a National Diploma/ Degree in Environmental Management or National Diploma/ Degree in Natural Science and a valid driver’s licence. 
 
Competencies required:  Good working knowledge of Environmental legislation and policy with specific focus on Pollution and Waste Management, Understanding of the objectives and provisions of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998, and the National Management: Waste Act and subordinate legislation. Good working knowledge of waste licensing procedures and knowledge and experience of environmental auditing/ inspection methodologies. Skills: Project Management, Interpersonal relations, Computer skills, Administrative skills, Time management skills, Communications skills (written and Verbal), Report writing skills, Presentation skills, Analytical skills, Problem solving skills, Research skills. 
 
Key responsibilities include: 
▪ Process and monitor waste-related information including integration of waste management considerations in planning initiatives. 
▪ Administer legislative obligations in terms of the approval and compliance monitoring of waste management activities. 
▪ Respond to waste-related or pollution complaints and incidents. 
▪ Promote best practice and entrepreneurship in waste management. 
▪ Perform administrative functions.
