KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be required to respond to service delivery problems timeously with the following key responsibilities:- • Respond to service delivery protests within the district • Inform the MEC of protest action • Liaise with relevant stakeholders (councillors, municipalities, community) • Identify reasons for the protest • Communicate and educate community on mechanisms to address queries • Draft report on protest and forward to supervisor • Facilitate local engagement prior and after the service delivery protests • Facilitate and ensure the maintenance of a rapid response unit at municipalities within the district • facilitates the stakeholder's engagements in order to arrive at common solutions • Facilitate the planning and coordination of appropriate interventions • Compile reports on each affected municipalities by obtaining relevant evidence • provide feedback to department • Detect any service delivery problems utilizing various system • Receive complaints on service delivery problems from the presidential hotline, premiers hotline and departmental nerve centre • Collate data • Process complaints by communicate with various stakeholders to establish challenges faced, and draw report of findings and forward to municipal specialists • Ensure rapid response to areas that are pressure points and threatened by service delivery protest within the district • Collect the memorandum of complaints/ petition on behalf of MEC• Acknowledge the content of the memorandum • Contact the complainants to establish facts • Request the concerned municipality to investigate and report on allegations.
