REMUNERATION: R 2, 055, 005 – R 2, 328, 138 – R 2, 601,270 Cost to Company Package per annum
PURPOSE
Drive the core mandate of supplying water and sanitation services through proactive and reactive implementation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of infrastructure. Leverage business support by working across the organisation in terms of key processes, projects and in relation to stakeholders. Oversee the operation and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment Works and drive the development and implementation of infrastructure projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the development of a business plan and corporate strategy and execute the core technical deliverables as outlined. Make use of technological development to operationalize and augment effective and efficient service delivery. Ensure quality control and adherence to health and safety standards. Manage employees by setting terms of reference and managerial processes, efficient performance management, employee development, coaching and mentoring to ensure succession planning. Manage operational compliance with company policies and procedures. Ensure effective running of the Operations Support department which includes the Scientific Services and business innovation functions to ensure strategic technical support to the operations departments. Ensure operations and compliance of the wastewater treatment with the relevant legislations. Compile and manage annual budget. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders which include City of Johannesburg, national and local government and other local municipalities to maximize service delivery.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum requirement of a 3-year Engineering qualification at NQF level 7 and a post graduate degree in Business Management or Engineering at NQF level 8.
- Minimum 10 Years’ experience of which 5 years should be at a senior management level
- Expert knowledge and experience of the implementation of water services policies, strategies, norms and standards, bylaw programmes and procedures
- Expertise and experience in infrastructure development
- Expertise in water resources and water services planning as well as water demand management
- Extensive knowledge in monitoring and evaluation of delivery of water services
- Ability to think independently and drive the strategic direction of the Company
- Experience in preparation of budgets
- Must meet all National Treasury competency requirements for Senior Managers e.g. Certificate in Management Development for Municipal Finance (CPMD) / Municipal Finance Management Programme (/MFMP) / Executive Leadership Municipal Development Programme (ELMDP) OR be eligible to obtain the National Treasury competency requirements within 18 months upon appointment into the position
- Valid Driver’s licence.
